Licensing and Activation Framework

The Customer is a global innovator in e-learning technology that offers a winning range of desktop-based language learning systems for education institutions.

The Customer has always relied on a network of sales channel partners to distribute these systems to end users. So the Customer originally built a licensing framework that was as simple as possible for sales partners. Unfortunately it gave very little information about the End-Users.

Oxagile delivered a complete set of project development services from project vision elaboration to licensing module transition for integration and deployment at the Customer’s side.

A new licensing and activation framework was introduced, consisting of:

• A universal module for the various desktop-based products of the Customer;
• Secure encrypted interfaces between the desktop activation module and web-based back-end at the Customer side;
• Secure database for storing tokens, licenses, activation and user data;
• Back-end for processing tokens and generating licenses, following a set of business rules;
• Web-based UI for operating personnel: product managers, service operators, marketing and sales managers.

The Customer handled deployment in its distributed offices with its own team based on the deployment and integration guide from Oxagile. Everything went as planned and the new licensing and activation framework became operational from day 1.

Oxagile has helped the Customer to effectively achieve its goals for the new licensing system in a short term and in an elegant and cost-effective manner.
