Online Auction Web Site

Project goal was to create an on-line auto auction, offering vehicles from the USA.

The overall aim of the project was to develop the site functionality and to integrate it with some popular web resources to increase its efficiency. At the project implementation, Oxagile developed a customized functionality with clear site navigation allowing the users to get a free access to:

Vehicle Listing

• online listing of the range of models with detailed car description.

History

• information on the history of the auction.

Detailed view

• data on the state of the car, inspection date, damage information, photos of the car which help to create its detailed description for a potential buyer.

Advanced search

• a potential buyer gets access to the search categories which allow him/her to select the desired make, model, year, VIN, category, color, odometer, location, type and Non-GM.

Auction system

• a Live bidding system which allows to sell and buy a car for export.

Integration with Wordpress and Ning, implemented by Oxagile, allowed the site owners to make it more user-friendly while providing the users with new communication and socializing options (e.g., creating of groups, sharing common interests or affiliations, holding discussions in forums, uploading or streaming live videos etc.).
Integration with authorize.net (a payment gateway), implemented by Oxagile, allowed the customers to purchase vehicles via the web site. At the implementation process, Oxagile adhered to the one-side implementation principle.

While implementing the project, Oxagile used a universal data parsing model based on downloading the data by using FTP, html parsing and further saving to the database.
